A little background: Many of you know me as Hilary Perkins, but I sing in my grandmother’s name, Nell Robinson. I have a new life writing, recording and performing bluegrass & country music. If you are interested, I’ll send you this monthly newsletter. If not, you can safely unsubscribe at any time.

Take the Stage Spring Showcase

Come on out and support these bands, they have been working hard for 8 weeks to prepare a very fun show of bluegrass, folk, roots music, including some fresh originals. Interested in the workshop? This is the best way to see what we are about. The bands and show information are listed at the freight.org.

My new album is doing well (especially after the radio show!).  Get ‘em while they’re hot.  Buy them on CDBaby or nellrobinsonmusic.com.

“The CD startles the listener with its fine, pure, honest vocals and harmonies, traditional bluegrass standards, old country tunes and original material. These genres are skillfully combined with a tint of country swing and blues. The result is a recording showcasing Nell’s warm, sexy vocals and highlights a sharp, clear, fresh approach for her creative offerings.” (Travis Tackett, Bluegrass Journal)

Butch is a “splendid country/bluegrass/folk ballad.” (Call It Folk)

“Her voice slips effortlessly between bluegrass breakdowns, hot-club swing songs, and plaintive laments. She channels the images and emotions of this hard-working rural life in her singing, drawing from early country sources…” (Devon Leger, HearthMusic)

Many of you know that my Dad passed away on April 3d. Thank you so much for the thoughts, cards and notes. This is my tribute to him.

Enjoy this beautiful life,
